Founders Rev. Cathy and Deacon Terry Sweat started Our Beloved Church to make a place for people in early recovery who have a hard time be comfortable in the larger churches.
Residents from Bethesda Recovery are encouraged to take part in the service of the church by working with many ministry aspects.
The morning service is segmented to help with the short attention space of those in early recovery. These segments include, pledges to the Bible, the Christian flag and the American flag, followed by the Lord's Prayer.
The consistency and the stability of the service gives foundational truths for the people to build on
Each week a moment of silence followed by a prayer is held for those families who have lost loved one to the ravages of the disease of addiction.
Following the moment of silence the congregations has an opportunity to celebrate life by announcing their long term recovery and what that recovery means to them
Recovery is a place to get to know our children so our Beloved Church encourages recovering parents to teach their children the need for worship and Bible teaching.
A children's sermon is included in the morning service and tables in the back of the sanctuary assist the parents in keeping the children involved.
Extra times of fun and adventure are planned for the teens and tweens. Early recovery parents and long term recovery parents have an opportunity to give back by participating in these events.
Rev. Cathy Sweat and her husband Mr. Terry are senior pastors of the Church.
Rev. Joanie Sikes serves as children's pastor and recovery pastor.
Rev. Janice Brewton serves at the adult Bible trainer.
Elders are Norma Jean Sikes and Emily Aguirre.
