GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community.Bethesda Recovery is one of our best kept community secrets. Help but it on the map!
Thousands of women each year search for places to find safe recovery. They are either in jail or on the streets reaching out to be rescued from addiction. Bethesda Recovery has been a safe haven for women for the past 20 plus years offering a low cost or sometimes free chance for life change.
Bethesda Recovery strives to restore women to health emotionally, physically and spiritually through sound biblical principles, collaboration with other agencies and participation in a church designed to meet their specific spiritual needs. Bethesda Recovery has supported hundreds of women in sustainable life change through offering GED classes, addiction recovery groups, substance abuse counseling and peer recovery coaches. We introduce life skills through cooking, yard work, baking, office training and other activities.
Creativity is an important teaching tool for recovery, so Bethesda offers classes to expand the creativity of each woman. Wood working, sewing, knitting, painting, and baking are just some of the creative skills developed by the women.
